The Moon. The Tide. A Girl.
Undercurrent
Some Tides were meant to be fought
and some were just meant to be.
After a night that ended in sirens and silence, Cas is sent away to live with the father who abandoned her eight years ago—a man who once whispered to her in secret of the magic of the ocean.
Her mother always hated the sea. Now it’s outside her bedroom window, roaring with truths Cas was never meant to hear.
In her new coastal town, Cas encounters two boys unlike any she has known before—one who threatens to unravel her darkest secret and the other whose storm-lit eyes leave her aching for rain.
With bonds to magic that crests and falls, leaving ruin in its wake, Cas is about to learn that some tides were meant to be fought, and some were just meant to be.

I grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, a book carefully wedged between myself and reality.
From the age of twelve, I was busy writing my own, fuelled by the dream of one day making someone else feel as intensely as my favourite stories had made me feel. I published my first book at eighteen, soon after completing another, but when the demands of adulthood came calling, I put my dreams alongside my books up on a shelf, promising myself I’d come back to them.
After years of navigating the corporate world as a creative director, my opportunity came to disembark, ready to chase that confidence of my younger self that creating didn’t have to be for profit. With the support of my partner, I fled the nine-to-five I’d come to hate, trading egos and deadlines for afternoons on the beach and my children’s soft laughter.
Now based on the Central Coast, my days are spent writing, imagining, and forever finding sand in all the wrong places for all the right reasons. When my children sleep, I slip into my other creative world as a freelance graphic and web designer.
Somewhere amongst the chaos and the juggle, I finally reached for that shelf and pulled down the stories I had promised myself I would finish. My recently released book, Undercurrent, felt like the perfect place to begin again.
Because for me, there has always been and always will be something so very magical about the ocean.
